Our World Today
Vietnam is in the top 05 ocean polluters with about 1.8 million tons of plastic waste generated to the ocean each year.
There are more than 700 species of marine creatures affected by plastic waste annually.
By the end of 2050, it is estimated that the amount of plastic waste would outweigh the amount of fish in the ocean.
Under physical impacts, plastic products degrade into small particles with the size smaller than 5mm, called microplastics, which have been found in seafood, water, air,… Each of us may be ingesting about 5 grams of microplastics a week.
